Kelly’s 2026 Fall Fun Guide: My Favorite Things to Do Around DFW

Kelly’s 2026 Fall Fun Guide: My Favorite Things to Do Around DFW 🍂

Fall in Texas may still mean 80-degree afternoons, but that isn’t stopping me from finding a pumpkin patch, grabbing the family, and pretending sweater weather has arrived. 😂

I love finding things to do around DFW, especially when I can make a day of it with the kids and grandkids. So instead of giving you a giant list of every fall event in North Texas, I narrowed this down to the places I already love and a few that are officially on my list to try.

Most of these are around HEB, Grapevine, Fort Worth and Arlington because, let's be real—I don't want to drive across the entire Metroplex just to see a pumpkin. 😂

So grab your calendar. Here are my picks for fall 2026!

💜 MY TRIED & TRUE FAVORITES

🎃 Hall’s Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze | Grapevine

If you only do one pumpkin patch this fall, this is my pick.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze is one of my absolute favorite fall traditions. It has the old-school fall feel I love—pumpkins everywhere, a corn maze, hayrides, farm animals, vintage tractors and plenty of spots for those obligatory pumpkin-patch pictures.

The 2026 season runs October 2 through November 1. The corn maze is included with general admission, and you can buy pumpkins to take home. One VERY important Kelly tip: bring cash! Hall's is cash only. Hall's Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze

📍 3420 Hall-Johnson Road, Grapevine
📅 October 2 – November 1, 2026

Kelly’s Take: This is THE pumpkin patch for me. It's close, it's family-friendly, and it actually feels like fall instead of a carnival that happens to have six pumpkins sitting around. 😂

👻 Boo at the Zoo | Fort Worth

Another one we LOVE.

Boo at the Zoo at the Fort Worth Zoo is happening October 23–25, 2026, and it's such a fun way to do Halloween with the little ones without it being too scary.

There are treat stations, live entertainment, animal shows and plenty of Halloween fun throughout the zoo. Even better, the Boo at the Zoo activities are included with regular zoo admission or membership. Costumes are encouraged, too. Fort Worth Zoo

📅 October 23–25, 2026

Kelly’s Take: If you have younger kids or grandkids, put this one on the calendar. Halloween + animals + candy = pretty hard to screw up. 😂

🎃 ON MY FALL BUCKET LIST

These aren't places I'm going to pretend I've personally tried. They're the ones that caught my attention while I was looking for things I'd actually want to do this fall.

✨ Pumpkin Nights | Arlington

This one looks SO COOL.

Pumpkin Nights Dallas–Fort Worth is at Howell Farms in Arlington and runs September 17 through October 31.

Instead of a traditional pumpkin patch, you walk a half-mile trail through nine immersive themed areas featuring more than 10,000 hand-carved and custom-designed pumpkins. It's designed around creativity and wonder rather than being scary, which is exactly why it made my list. Pumpkin Nights

📍 Howell Farms — 4016 W. Division St., Arlington
📅 September 17 – October 31, 2026

Kelly’s Take: This feels like one to do after dark. I want the lights, the pumpkins and ALL the pictures.

🍁 PumpkinFest | Grapevine

Apparently Grapevine has decided to own fall, and I'm fine with it.

PumpkinFest at Meadowmere Park runs October 9–18. There's a pumpkin-lined trail, seasonal activities, fall photo spots and artisan vendors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

And here's something I really like: admission is $20 per CAR, not $20 for every person you bring. GoGrapevine

📍 Meadowmere Park — 3000 Meadowmere Lane, Grapevine
📅 October 9–18, 2026

Kelly’s Take: Load everybody into one car and suddenly I'm calling that economical family entertainment. 😂

🚜 Nash Farm Fall Round-Up | Grapevine

This one is a little different from the others, which is why it made my list.

The Nash Farm Fall Round-Up is October 24 from 10 AM–2 PM and celebrates fall the old-fashioned way with traditional farm skills, heritage crafts and family activities.

And the best part?

Admission is FREE. 🙌 Grapevine Texas

📍 Nash Farm — 626 Ball St., Grapevine
📅 October 24, 2026 | 10 AM–2 PM

Kelly’s Take: This sounds like the perfect Saturday-morning outing when you want to get the kids out of the house without spending $150 before lunch.

🌻 Autumn at the Arboretum | Dallas

If your goal is THE fall picture, this might be the one.

Autumn at the Arboretum runs September 19 through November 1 at the Dallas Arboretum. This year's display features more than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash, with the Pumpkin Village designed around the 2026 Harvest Hues theme. Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

📍 Dallas Arboretum — 8525 Garland Road, Dallas
📅 September 19 – November 1, 2026

Kelly’s Take: It's farther than some of my other picks, but 100,000 pumpkins?! Somebody better be taking a Christmas-card picture while we're there. 😂

🎶 Fall Into Flower Mound Festival | Flower Mound

This one surprised me because there's actually a TON happening.

The Fall Into Flower Mound Festival takes place October 9–10 at The River Walk. There will be live music, carnival games, a hay maze, pumpkin patch/photo garden, kids' crafts, inflatables, food trucks and vendors. Flower Mound

📍 The River Walk — 4110 River Walk Dr., Flower Mound
📅 October 9–10, 2026

Kelly’s Take: This looks like one where you can show up planning to stay an hour and somehow still be there four hours later.

🤠 State Fair of Texas | Dallas

Okay, this one isn't exactly a hidden gem—but can you really make a DFW fall list without Big Tex?

The 2026 State Fair of Texas runs September 25 through October 18 at Fair Park.

You've got the Midway, exhibits, live entertainment, animals and, of course, the annual tradition of finding something that absolutely did NOT need to be deep fried…and eating it anyway. 😂 State Fair of Texas

📍 Fair Park — 3809 Grand Ave., Dallas
📅 September 25 – October 18, 2026

Kelly’s Take: Go hungry. That's the advice.

🍂 Now Go Make Some Fall Memories

One of my favorite things about living in DFW is that there's always something happening—and fall might be my favorite season for getting everybody out of the house and making some memories.

If you try one of these, send me a picture or tag me! And if there's a local pumpkin patch, festival, restaurant or fall tradition that should be on my list next year, I want to hear about it.

I'll keep adding my local favorites because being your Realtor isn't just about knowing what houses are selling for. I want to be the person you call when you need a contractor, a restaurant recommendation, something fun to do this weekend—or, yes, when it's finally time to talk real estate. 💜

Happy Fall, y'all!
